​Patient and Public Involvement in Health
​The Transitional Advisory Board (TAB) was appointed by Hazel Bears to advise the Department of Health on the implementation of the Legislation.  The TAB, as a group, could not influence the Policy, but it could influence how the Policy is interpreted on the ground.  This was an important role with regulations yet to be drafted.

The TAB brought together 15 stakeholders from CHCs, the voluntary sector and the NHS.  It began work in February (2002) and completed its work in the December, at which point it would hand over to the new Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health (CPPIH).  The Chair Designate of the Commission, Mrs. Sharon Grant, was appointed and the TAP worked with her to help inform initial thinking on the shape of the Commission and its work.

The Chair of the Transitional Advisory Board was Paul Streets (Chief Executive of Diabetes UK.
